Since 1941, Muncie Music Center has been a fixture in the music scene throughout Indiana and Western Ohio. Our first location was on Adams Street in Downtown Muncie. In the late 50’s, Mr. and Mrs. Hofherr made the decision to invest in a new location for Muncie Music Center. The design of the store was made perfect for the business model at the time. Two levels, with teaching studios and a stairwell complete with a pulley for pianos and organs, the building was “State of the Art” at the time.

50 years later, Muncie Music Center has been fortunate to have survived and thrived throughout the economic ups and downs. The business has grown to serve over 60 school systems in 26 counties in Indiana and Ohio. In addition Muncie Music Center serves many new markets and clientele with guitars, amplifiers, percussion, lighting and sound systems. Basically, we’ve outgrown our location and building!

During the summer of 2012, we broke ground on our new location at 600 S. Mulberry, Downtown Muncie. The property is directly adjacent to the new Canan Commons Urban Park and Stage on the Southern Gateway to Downtown. The new location is thoughtfully designed and planned to accommodate all of our customers, teachers, students, and employees. All on one level, with plenty of parking and Greenspace, the new location is larger and spacious with a bright and open Showroom with a Performance Area, a repair and warehouse area, new larger Teaching Studios including a Group Teaching Classroom, and amenities that will serve all who visit.

We are now OPEN for business at our new location at 600 South Mulberry Street, and we still have the same great hours Monday-Friday 9AM-6PM and Saturday 9AM-3PM.  Come by and see what the hype is all about.
